Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta encapsulation is the practice of turning your placenta into simple capsules for ingestion, and it carries a phethora of potential benefits. Encapsulation is done in the comfort of your own home, so you can be assured that your placenta is being handled with great care and respect.

Often, when people think of placenta encapsulation, the knee-jerk reaction is “Oh, gross!” We’re here to break that mold and bring placenta encapsulation into the light. We’re pleased to inform you that, contrary to popular belief about what encapsulation looks like, our process is clean and simple, and meets all federal standards for food preparation. Our Placenta Encapsulation Specialist has training and certifications in the encapsulation process itself, blood-borne pathogens, and a safe food handler’s certificate. When it comes to preparing your placenta, we are dedicated to giving you only the best. We take your health and safety seriously.

Your Placenta Encapsulation Specialist will work in your home, so you will be aware of everything that happens with your placenta. She is minimally invasive to your space and completely respectful of your need to bond with your baby. All you will have to do is let her in, show her your kitchen and she will get right to work. If you’d like to observe and be a part of the process, or ask questions about what exactly is going on, your are more than welcome to!  She is also trained as a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist, so feel free to ask her any questions you may have about that as well.

Placenta encapsulation is a two-day process. The first visit is about two hours, where she will prepare the placenta for dehydration. Once she gets the placenta set up on the professional-grade dehydrator, she will clean up the kitchen and leave the placenta to dry. The next day, she will return for another two hours to grind the dried placenta and place it into capsules for you.
